Job Gets it Right

By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent, Job 26:13.

For those who have been keeping up with the many posts on the word "spirit", Job 26:13 is a perfect place to illustrate why a lowercase "s" is used to distinguish the spirit of the preincarnate Jesus Christ in the Old Testament as well as the incarnate Christ in the New Testament. Which member of the Godhead did the creating? Did the Holy Ghost garnish the heavens or did Jesus Christ?

The companion verse to Job 26:13 is Ephesians 3:9; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ. He created all things by Jesus Christ, is stating more boldly what Job said when he said; by his spirit he hath garnished the heavens.

Jesus Christ created all things. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made, John 1:3. It is the preincarnate Jesus Christ that placed all of the stars, planets, moons asteroids and comets in the heavens to garnish them. As has been said many times before, the usage of upper and lower case when writing the word "spirit" has made the King James Bible a sharper sword than any other version in history.

Exodus 31 gives us another insight into this. See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship, Exodus 31:2-5. Just as the tabernacle is a picture of heaven and the cosmos, the creator of that tabernacle, Bezaleel, who like Jesus Christ comes out of the tribe of Judah, is given the lowercase spirit of God so that he can have the creator's spirit.

When an upper or lowercase spirit is given in the text, the Lord is trying to show us which member of the Godhead is operating. For far too long, men have had an overly simplistic view of the Godhead. Whenever they saw the word "spirit" or "Spirit", their knee jerk reaction was to call it the Holy Spirit. Just follow the Scofield notes to see that happen. He locked a century of Christians into his ignorance. The Pure Cambridge Text of the King James Bible is an exact duplicate of the Bible in heaven that sits before the Father. Any alteration made to it is a grief in heaven.
